Summary

Jennifer Jason Leigh stars as Catherine Sloper, an unattractive but rich spinster pursued by handsome suitor Morris Townsend (Ben Chaplin) until her disapproving father (Albert Finney) -- wary of Townsend's motives -- vows to disown Catherine if she weds against his wishes. Maggie Smith, Judith Ivey and Jennifer Garner also star in this faithful adaptation of the timeless Victorian novella by Henry James.
