Summary

This inspirational made-for-television docudrama profiles courageous American track star Wilma Rudolph (Shirley Jo Finney). Overcoming segregation and a debilitating case of polio, the sprinter earned three gold medals in the 1960 Rome Olympics. The supporting cast includes Cicely Tyson as Wilma's mother, while Denzel Washington makes his screen debut in the role of a young athlete. Bud Greenspan directs.
