Summary

Hardworking machinist Lulu Massa (Gian Maria Volonte) alienates his co-workers on the assembly line by consistently being fastest, setting impossible standards for the rest of them. But when he takes leave to recuperate from an accident that cost him a finger, a colleague shows him the error of his ways. Soon, Massa returns to work and becomes impassioned about starting a union. This Italian drama won the Golden Palm at the Cannes Film Festival.
