Summary

John Lithgow turns in a sympathetic, nuanced performance as Ben Cluett, a Willy Loman-esque traveling salesman. In the middle of a disconcerting slump, Ben finds himself teamed with a brash young rookie (Jonathan Silverman), who antagonizes the veteran peddler. Together, the pair takes a memorable road trip that opens each man's eyes. Irvin Kershner directs this poignant character comedy that also stars Margaret Colin and John Glover.
