Summary

In this uncompromising look at the mentally challenged, Walter (Ian McKellen) is a disabled man with a big heart whose parents live far away and often treat him coldly. Before long, Walter finds himself in a mental institution; ironically, he's now happier than ever, surrounded by people who care for him, including a schizophrenic named June (Sarah Miles), with whom he strikes up a romance.
