Summary

Led by egotistical Piero Cavallero (Gian Maria Volonté), a quartet of bank robbers responsible for a series of heists in Milan slips up during their latest job and kills several bystanders, blowing the gang's cover as seemingly upright citizens and triggering a dragnet. Tomas Milian plays the young cop determined to capture the culprits and their mastermind, who may soon find his self-image as a folkloric hero at odds with reality.
